Crispin Akerman

17th October – 3rd November

“In my work I use items such as enamelware, ceramics and textiles, as well as native Australian flora to capture a sense of quiet contemplation, history and beauty.  I arrange my compositions carefully, allowing for the exploration of balance, tension, light and atmosphere.  I am always searching for clarity and harmony.  What I find most interesting about this genre is the contemplative potential in it, the suggestion of the kinetic in the static, the metaphysical promise present in the very words, still life.”

Crispin Akerman is a visual artist living and working in the southwest of Western Australia. He mostly prefers to work from life and nature over photography.  Crispin has held numerous Solo and Group exhibitions throughout Australia and is held in the New Parliament House Art Collection Canberra, Art Bank and private and exclusive corporate collections in Australia and overseas.
