Garry Zeck was born in 1941 and has lived and worked in Western Australia all his life. He completed a Bachelor of Fine Art from Edith Cowan University. He commenced his artistic career with his first solo exhibition in 1967. Since then has exhibited on a regular basis, winning a number of awards along the way.
Zeck’s work is immediately recognisable and extremely engaging. Its is apparent that oriental asthetics have been a major influence on his ceramics, however his inspiration is definately Australian. With over fifty solo exhibitions and numerous group shows later, Zeck’s work is represented in the State and National Galleries, Shire collections and too many private collections and homes to list.
