In 2023, Sculpture at Bathers (S@B) celebrates its 10th anniversary and a decade of supporting contemporary Western Australian artists.
S@B is a prominent and forthright voice for artists both emerging and established and is wholeheartedly unique in the State. A high profile, innovative outdoor sculpture survey, S@B is a walkable open-air exhibition that stretches from the beach to the coastal bushland in the heritage listed Bathers Beach Arts Precinct in the West End of Walyalup/Fremantle.
Accessible to the public 24/7 for three weeks, the uniquely transformative experience of engaging with artworks against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean has delighted more than 200,000 viewers over five biannual large-scale exhibitions. This enduring event communicates in authentic ways and offers meaningful impacts to viewers of all ages.
The artists on show in Sirens are all firmly part of the Bathers artist community, with many having exhibited in all five iterations of S@B. We are honoured by this opportunity to exhibit within the supportive walls of Gallows Gallery and delighted to continue to foster the embracing community spirit that S@B is known for.
