Crispin Akerman

17th October – 3rd November

In my work I use items such as enamelware, ceramics and textiles, as well as native Australian flora to capture a sense of quiet contemplation, history and beauty.   I arrange my compositions carefully, allowing for the exploration of balance, tension, light and atmosphere.  I am always searching for clarity and harmony.  What I find most interesting about this genre is the contemplative potential in it, the suggestion of the kinetic in the static, the metaphysical promise present in the very words, still life.
